Short version: no accounts, no email list, no tracking cookies. Here's exactly what happens to what you type.
Who we are
noshitgifts.com is run by [ENTITY NAME, ABN]. Questions about this policy: hello@noshitgifts.com.
What we collect
- Your answers. Your answers stay in your browser until you press “Go find actual products”. Then your answers and any note you wrote go to our server to find gifts. Don't put anyone's name or private details in the note.
- Your IP address. We count how often each IP address runs a search, to stop abuse and keep costs down. These counts are deleted within 24 hours.
- Leaderboard. If you save a score in the waiting game, we keep the three initials you enter and your score until the board resets each Monday. Nothing else is attached to it.
- Cached results. Picks for identical answers are kept for up to 7 days so the next person gets them faster. They aren't linked to you or your IP address.
- Visit counts. We use Cloudflare's web analytics, which counts visits without cookies.
Who it goes to
- Cloudflare hosts the site and protects it from attacks.
- Anthropic provides the model that picks the gifts and checks reviews. It receives your answers and note, without your IP address.
- Both may process data outside Australia, including in the United States.
Shops we link to
When you click through to Amazon or Etsy, they set their own cookies so they can pay us a commission if you buy. What they do is covered by their own privacy policies. You pay the same either way.
Your browser
Your best score in the Santa game is saved in your own browser. Nothing else is.
Your rights
We don't hold anything that identifies you beyond a short-lived IP address count. If you want to ask about or complain about how we handle personal information, email us and we'll reply within 30 days. In Australia you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
